When I first started to learn about search engine optimization and marketing strategies for the purpose of building my home based business, I realized I would have to at some point break down and hire a search engine optimization company to do some work for me. So, now's the time to put things in motion for me.
It's now time to choose the mode I want to use in building my online presence. Do I get a website or do I get blog? When I first began to join different businesses on the Internet, I joined under a webmaster that built splash pages, capture pages or squeeze pages, all three have pretty much the same purpose. The webmaster built nice capture pages, they were appealing and pleasant to look at. This came to be the criteria for me when choosing a business to join, they had to have a nice looking website. People lose interest real quick if they land on a website that is ugly and disorganized.
To begin with, you need to understand that it is going to be rather difficult to take your niche market to Google page one unless you are a well established website owner with a huge marketing budget. But still it is possible. In order to make it be easier for you to understand, here's an example; if you choose niche “cat food” this will be extremely difficult but, if you try “diabetic pet food for cats” things will become much easier and you will definitely get the greater possibility that your site will draw the attention of the search engine bots.
One of the first things I was taught when I discovered online marketing was to build a list. How many times have you heard the phrase “The money is in the list”? Every guru and his dog still teach the same thing - build your list, get an autoresponder.
I hate autoresponders! For those of you who don't know, an autoresponder is a way for you to automatically market to people who have given you their email details. For example you can load up an autoresponder with countless messages to be distributed to your contacts over a specified time - all done automatically. You can place special pieces of code that will insert your contact's name in stategic spots so as to personalize your messages. Sound good huh? Much less work for you to do right?
Let's say you have a marvelous product or service (POS) to market. You've discovered that there are 1.5 billion people connected to the Internet in more than 100 English-speaking countries. Lots of those folks have a problem that your POS could solve, and they're searching daily for that solution. The question becomes: What are your chances of hooking up with those prospective customers, using your current method of marketing?
Because the Internet marketplace is so large, many, many competitors are already out there pitching their wares. Some of them make plenty of sales and lots of money. My recent investigation suggests, however, that the majority accidentally stumbled into this windfall. They don't really understand what they're doing. They're using outdated marketing methods as if they were still running a small-town store. The vastness of the marketplace accounts for whatever success they enjoy.
Writing articles can be one of the easiest, most productive methods to increase your online presence.
However, if your articles never get read, you have wasted your time and you could perhaps have done something more productive with your time.
So, how do you ensure that your articles get read?
Stop and think what you would do if you were searching through an article site, trying to find an article of interest. Yes, like most people, you would scan through the titles! This makes your title extremely important if you want to get your article read by as many people as possible, which is generally why we all post articles.
Affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to diversify and supplement your income source when you work from home. Whether you work for a virtual employer or have your own home based business, adding affiliate programs can help bring in extra residual income each month.
What is affiliate marketing?
Affiliate marketing is promoting a merchant's service or product. You are paid a commission when you make a sale. You may also earn on pay-per-click or pay-per-lead, but pay-per-sale is the most common way of earning when it comes to affiliate programs.
How easy is it to earn with affiliate programs?
It's largely due to how well you know about the different types of marketing methods you can work with. If you're well-versed and know your way around the web, then you have an advantage over someone who is not so business savvy.
As the internet has evolved we have seen changes galore! When Windows 95 appeared, most home computers were based on the 486 model which made the 286 seem ancient. No one much thought about how to sell anything on the net. Not many people had an email address and simple games like Solitary, perhaps Allied General, Dungeons and Dragons and other small applications and games were all the rage!
Then Windows 98 and Apple's new OS system hit the waves and things started to heat up! New terms like laptop, Internet Cafe, Internet Guru, Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM), and countless thousands of other new changes were coming on strong.
Learn How To Start An Internet Business With OR Without A Website!!
My friend Lenny asked me the other day if there was any way he could do something working online without a website. He doesn't like his job and is looking for a way out, but for now he's just looking for some extra money.
It never occurred to me that someone would want to learn how to start an Internet business without a website. I have several websites and one of them is for my old window cleaning business. I don't sell any thing on there but wouldn't be with out it, I realised many years ago that even for that business I needed an online presence, that's how important the Internet is in this day and age that we live in.
There are many ways to drive traffic to your business opportunity or home based business. Two of the best ways to do so involve SEO (search engine optimization) and article marketing. This is one of those deals that…if you are doing one of them, you might as well do both!
Why say that?
Let us break it down. I'll start with search engine optimization.
SEO is the technique that is used to drive traffic to a web site based on keywords and keyword phrases. To get this traffic, you must have a web site and a keyword rich domain name. Using various means, your goal is to get your web site listed in the upper high end of the search engine ranking positions (SERP) for each of the various search engines. Most if not all people who do SEO are picking on Google as they by far get the largest amount of searches performed on the internet.
